The City of Bellmead codes are intended to benefit everyone while making our neighborhoods safe, strong and attractive. Compliance with standards can reduce vandalism, deter crime, maintain property values and prevent deterioration of you neighborhood. Jerry Grisham, Development & Neighborhood Services Division Director, invites all citizens to actively participate in improving their neighborhoods and community.
Code Violation Examples:
- Tall Grass & Weeds: Grass and weeds exceeding 12 inches in height is a violation. Property owners are responsible for keeping their lawns mowed to the roadway.
- Junk Vehicles: A junked vehicle is defined as vehicle that is self-propelled and does not have lawfully attached to it: An unexpired license plate; and a valid motor vehicle inspection certificate; and is wrecked, dismantled or partially dismantled or discarded; or inoperable and has remained inoperable for more than 72 consecutive hours if the vehicle in on public property; or 30 consecutive days if the vehicle is on private property.
- Unclean Premises: Properties shall be kept free of unsightly accumulation of garbage and/or junk, which is likely to become unsanitary, offensive or likely to create disease.
- Illegal Dumping:Dumping of tires, trash and other such debris is a great concern for all our communities and neighborhoods. Dispose of ties and trash in a lawful manner.
- Stagnant Water/Standing Water: Stagnant pool water can pose serious health risks. Be sure to remove standing water from your property to help avoid mosquito infestation and other health concerns.
