Chief: Lydia Alvarado

Chief Lydia Alvarado has 23 years of detailed and diversified experience in Law Enforcement and holds numerous licenses and certificates including a Master Peace Officer.

Chief Alvarado believes “A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others.  They do not set out to be a leader, but become one by the quality of their actions and integrity of their intent.”

The mission of Chief Alvarado is for the Bellmead Police Department to place an emphasis on quality law enforcement, crime prevention and community policing.  The goal is to continue to develop partnerships and joint problem-solving techniques with the community that will increase the quality of life for residents and visitors of the City of Bellmead.

This mission is realized as we impartially, yet aggressively, uphold federal, state, and local laws, conscientiously deliver professional police services and respect the rights of those we encounter.
